WARWICK Wine Estate Cabernet Franc 2014

WARWICK Wine Estate Cabernet Franc 2014

"A deep dark ruby and purple colour promises body and power on this wine. The aromas of fresh earth, minerals, black cherry and mocha certainly deliver all the traits of a wine that is dominated by clean, linear fruit and a hedonistic mouthful of soft juicy tannins. The flesh and weight of the wine make it voluptuous and abundant with a long, round and lush finish.

A freshly made tagliatelle with a duck ragout would be truly outstanding, or even just the pasta with a few fresh truffle shavings would make this combo memorable. A grilled rib eye steak on the bone with an anchovy butter and some creamed spinach would also work. It is a great cheese match but keep the cheese to the gooey kind and steer away from blue cheese as it is very hard to match for any wine." ~ www.warwick.com

KLEINE ZALZA Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

KLEINE ZALZA Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

"A beautiful wine that is very typical of the vintage. A rich bouquet of dark berries and cedar wood give way to full palate initially with waves of cassis and currants followed by more savoury back palate. The fine grained tannin profile gives this wine great structure, yet without compromising Kleine Zalze’s signature elegance. A great example of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon at its finest!" ~ www.kleinezalze.co.za

Pairs well with roast beef tagliata, mushroom stroganoff or even a mushroom pizza.

BOSMAN FAMILY VINEYARDS Twyfeling Cinsaut 2015

"A new release by Bosman Family wines, this wine is gaining attention sure to pave a bright future for Cinsaut in South Africa. A luscious and concentrated wine, that is bold in its flavours of fresh red berries and spice, but elegant in its tannin structure and underlying savoury notes. “The renaissance of Cinsaut is apon us. I would be quite proud if we could reclaim it as a South African viticulture heritage and I hope this wine will help pave the way” ~ Corlea Fourie, winemaker.

Cederberg Private Cellar Ghost Corner Semillon 2015

"Showcasing exceptional cool-climate minerality alongside a refined, aromatic profile, the Ghost Corner Semillon from Cederberg Private Cellar, is an elegantly balanced and rewarding wine. Sparkling notes of green fig, nettle and white fruit characters arrange themselves in an aromatic bouquet that is upheld by a subtle mineral quality. From nose to palate, the flavours translate with wonderful charm, allowing earthy and mineral characters to display their prowess on the mid-palate. A smattering of French oak adds wonderful depth and smokiness to the palate, combining a creamy sensation with natural acidity that results in a well-structured and exquisitely balanced wine." ~ www.cybercellar.com

Constantia Uitsig Estate Chardonnay Reserve 2016

"The Chardonnay Reserve from cooler-climate Constantia Uitsig Estate, achieves an elegantly poised balance between fruit, acid and well-integrated wood. Rich aromas of butterscotch and vanilla are juxtaposed by bright citrus notes. Elegant and soft on the palate, the wine displays a supple body with refined woody traits that lend the wine it’s characteristically long and dry finish. This decadently rich Chardonnay is a true expression of its varietal." ~ www.cybercellar.com
