The two brothers in question are Tony and Terry Pearce. Together they have over 30 years experience in design, manufacturing and advanced materials and their company, Purple, is the culmination of that experience. Last year they created a project on Kickstarter seeking crowdfunding to raise the capital needed to launch a revolutionary mattress design. The 'Purple: The Latest Technology in Comfort and Sleep' campaign was successfully funded and their mattress, which used their patented designs, technologies and materials, made it to the market.
The Purple mattress made an impressive impression on customers and recieved raving reviews. With grat reviews and requests for a pillow that could equal the mattress, Purple started working on just that. Accordingto Purple, "The response to our launch has been so overwhelmingly positive, and the warm welcome we received on Kickstarter encouraged us to come back with our new, game-changing product!".
Below is the official kickstarter campaign video for the Purple Pillow, the world's first no-pressure head bed.

So, how does it actually work? The Purple Pillow is made of three parts:
- Purple’s patented Hyper-Elastic Polymer (the stretchy purple stuff) is organized in hundreds of little triangles. Unlike most pillows that might go flat and lose shape, the triangles give the core of the pillow lateral strength so it retains its oh-so supportive, head-cradling comfort all night. You never have to readjust or fluff, and your head doesn’t sink or shift.
- Purple includes an adjustable air booster if you want to add a little extra height to your pillow. This is great for side sleepers and snorers, making the Purple Pillow perfect for just about anyone.
- The Purple Hyper-Elastic Polymer and air booster fit perfectly inside a super soft cover. The cover is made from polyester to make it gentle on your face, breathable so you don't sleep hot, and stretchy so your head can sink into the squishy Purple goodness.
